Career Fest 2015 by Association of Muslim Professionals

For Association of Muslim Professional, students of various schools from all over Maharastra and other guest & dignitaries......

Assalamo Alaikum,
It was a great honor for me to address the auspicious gathering at Career fest 2015 for the noble mission of motivating and enlightening the Muslim youths of India towards education and provide them with guidance to move in the right direction, and become the proud and productive citizens of our beloved homeland.
Education is the wealth and power of knowledge that nobody can ever steal from you. The training of a human mind is not complete without education. It teaches the human mind how to think not just what to think. Education makes a man a great thinker. It gives a human being the power to think logically and make wise and practical decisions in the interest of peace and humanity in this world.
Great Nations in history are always respected because of their educational achievements which have helped mankind. Without proper education, we cannot receive information from the external world.
When the Holy Qur'an was being revealed to our beloved Prophet Nabi e Kareem Salallahu walay wasalam, the first word commanded by Allah Subhano watala was 'Iqra' which means Read. A scholar in Islam is always accorded great respect in the hadith, where it is said that the ink of the pen of a scholar is more precious than the blood of a martyr. As such, it is the duty of an Alim to build individuals and nations along positive and progressive lines. Islam attaches great importance to the acquisition of Education.
Education in this century is extremely important as never before to face the complex and unique challenges that the mankind is facing all over the world today. We also need Education to make this world more secure and peaceful, to understand and communicate more intelligently, to negotiate, to agree, to disagree respectfully, to resolve mutual conflicts in amicable and civilized ways, to demand Justice and human rights in a democratic way, and also to learn to compromise in the interest of Peace and humanity. Education removes the ugly shadows of ignorance and bring you out of the darkness of false arrogance.
The most notable Champion of Education for the Indian Muslims has been Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, May Allah bless his soul. He was the Modernist Islamic Reformer who pioneered Modern Education for our Muslim community in India, by founding the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University. It was basically because of his devotion and efforts that we produced a new generation of Intellectuals. We must be fiercely committed to continue that mission as our survival depends on it.
Every Muslim parent must understand that their future depends on how well they educate their children. These parents must teach their children that only through Education, they can achieve whatever they dream and wish, and live a respectable life, provided they are ambitious and hardworking. We want to be a nation of doers instead of a bunch of crybabies standing and waiting for a government handout which we will never receive. The time has come for the Indian Muslims to embark in search of Education and Knowledge.
In a true Aligarian spirit of accepting new challenges of the modern day world, I urge all Muslim educational organisations and Staff to get involved to combat the new challenge of educating our young generation, and establish a think tank to see how the future generation of Indian Muslims can be motivated towards the pursuit of Education. We must realize the dream of “No Muslim child left behind for education in India”.
I hope we the Indian Muslims can concentrate on our mission and speed up our social and economic progress. For this, we need adequate funding and qualified staffing. I am grateful to AMP for doing this but we should also approach International agencies and other Indian Muslims locally and abroad to help establish more schools and libraries for our students and help this mission.
To me brothers and sisters in Islam, Education does not mean just conquering the outer space, but also the inner space. With Education, we must be able to conquer the atom and also our prejudice. We must clean the pollution of the air and also not allow to pollute our souls and heart.
Education must not be acquired just to get a better paying job, but to brighten our lives with awareness, confidence and to see what is coming in future.
In the end, let me take an opportunity to emphasize the importance of educating the women in our society. Every woman in the world should be free from any social barrier, discrimination and unwarranted obstacles to acquire higher education and to become productive and responsible citizens of the country. Education is very important for the woman’s security. Women are often deprived of their due rights due to ignorance and illiteracy. Islam therefore, allows women many rights. Muslim women should be allowed education rights so that she can also be a good teacher to her children. In the modern world today, we are seeing more and more educated and progressive women influencing in shaping of our societies as writers, engineers, scientists, politicians and even athletes.
Muslim women should be counseled and helped to establish Engineering and Medicine as highly desirable career aspiration.
Finally, I wish to thank the illustrious organizers of this program for inviting me, representing me as a role model and giving me the opportunity to speak, and I wish to assure them of all my co-operation and assistance for this noble cause in future again.
Thanks again
Wasalam.
